On 14 April 2026, the workshop Invasive and Expansive Plants in Mountain Landscapes was held at the Krtek Environmental Education Centre in Vrchlabí, bringing together 65 participants from nature conservation authorities, national parks, research institutions, agriculture and land management.
The programme combined current knowledge on the spread and management of invasive species with practical examples from the Krkonoše and Orlické Mountains and demonstrations of how remote sensing and UAV imagery can support their monitoring.
A dedicated training session addressed the prevention and control of invasive plants, while the discussions provided valuable opportunities to share experience and strengthen cooperation between research and practice. The workshop received very positive feedback, particularly for its scientific quality, practical relevance and interdisciplinary approach.
