In early April 2025, we had the opportunity to present our research findings and gain valuable new insights at two international conferences.
At the ISPRS Geospatial Week 2025 in Dubai, we presented two posters focused on invasive species monitoring and the evaluation of ITCD (Individual Tree Crown Delineation) methods. The event provided an excellent platform for sharing our latest results and engaging with the international remote sensing community. In addition to the poster presentations, we held productive discussions with colleagues on advanced approaches to vegetation detection, particularly in the field of deep learning–based methods. These exchanges offered important inspiration for our ongoing and future research activities.
Based on our conference contributions, two scientific publications have been prepared: (1) Monitoring invasive and expansive species in the Krkonoše Mts using UAV multitemporal data and botanical research and (2) Does the implementation of Automatic Individual Tree Crown Delineation (ITCD) impact the early detection of bark beetle (BB) infestation in Norway spruce forests?
The first poster and presentation was supported by Technology Agency of the Czech Republic project SS07020317 Monitoring the spread and management of invasive and expansive species using advanced earth observation methods and the second by Technology Agency of the Czech Republic project SS07010417 Earth observation technologies for the surveillance activities of the Czech Environmental Inspectorate.

In Cairo we participated in IGU Thematic Conference, Cairo, IGU Egypt 2025, is “Geo-Spatial Technology, Global Changes and Sustainability”. Oral presentation Landscape Transformation in Czechia Over the Last 30 Years: Diversity of Changes at Two Spatial Levels was supported by Technology Agency of the Czech Republic project SS07020317 Monitoring the spread and management of invasive and expansive species using advanced earth observation methods and by Horizon Europe project Europe-LAND.
In Cairo, we engaged in in-depth discussions on landscape transformation and sustainability. These exchanges provided valuable perspectives and practical insights that will contribute to improving our project results and overall outputs.
